Some things are the same, while other things are changing – what does that mean? answer below

I started performing comedy at open mic nights when I was 18 years old. After a couple years of doing standup comedy, a friend
basically dared me to do a show as a comic hypnotist. (The evolution leading up to this moment is long and possibly for another blog post)
I started combining comedy and hypnosis when I was around 22 yrs old and have never looked back.
Early on clubs often insisted on putting another comic on the bill with me. Often times, the other comic the club hired
wasn’t very good and often made my job harder. I would have to dig out of a hole they created to steer the audience back
into a good mood. In 1990 I did a week of shows in Orlando, FL for a company called the Comedy Zone. They booked
a comic to be on the bill, opening for me. This time, the comic – Rene’ Bray was excellent. She was funny, smart,
charismatic, likable, and also friendly. We didn’t have a chance to hang out, but we did talk at the club before the shows
and I guess we each made an impression on each other. At the end of the week, she went her way and I went mine.

In the years that followed, I think we exchanged FB messages maybe 2 or 3 times.
Then, out of the blue, with no warning, on Feb 16, 2025 I got an email from Rene’ asking me if I was still doing comedy
and if I was, would I be interested in a booking she had for me. Rene’ retired June 14, 2019 from a 30 year comedy career as a headliner, selling out rooms everywhere she worked.
She kept busy ( at least a little busy ) by booking the occasional show for clients she had developed over the years.
She started out her email, like she seems to start out most conversation…… “I don’t know if you remember me”
(The way Rene’ tells the story, she called me on Feb 16, but the accurate recounting of the story is she emailed me, HOPING
I would respond back to her by email. She sent the email and immediately started thinking, ” please don’t call, please don’t call, please don’t call” )

OF COURSE I REMEMBERED HER, AND IMMEDIATELY CALLED –   LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

We spoke for quite a long time, catching up what little there was to catch up on, and also sharing with each other how
our lives turned out, also comparing notes about clubs we worked, people we worked with and knew, who was still alive
who had passed away, etc.

We started speaking every day. For me it was so much fun talking to someone who was nice, had a great sense of humor,
is funny, knows the same people, knows the same clubs, had similar experiences, and over time we found we had soooooo
much in common. One thing led to another…… I happily accepted the booking she initially contacted me about, then we
started discussing Rene’ managing my career (which she has since taken on), working to get my show into theaters ( I am
now primarily working in theaters ), which led to us starting a podcast together ( we call it “ROAD COMICS ADVENTURES” ), which also led to us opening up a production company, which led to Rene’ moving from Florida to Lafayette, LA, and now living in my house, which has led to us deciding to do a live comedy show together.

I will continue to do my show around the country (primarily in theaters) and in addition to that we are now booking 2026 dates
to tour the country together to do an unscripted, no filter, spontaneous 2 person show where we are planning nothing but
laughs and good times.
a short promo clip

I am really excited about all the changes. This year ( because of Rene’s hard work ), I’ve performed my show at theaters in
MI, WV, NC, GA, FL (multiple shows) with more shows scheduled in TN, LA, AL, NE and more bookings on the way.

Rene’ and I call our podcast – Road Comics Adventures and have also decided to call our tour by the same name.
It really has been and will continue to be 2 Road Comics, traveling the country with Storm (the RCA dog) laughing our
way through adventure after adventure.

I don’t know how many of you have knew about all of these changes. I haven’t done much in the way of updating this year
and I thought this was long overdue.
First of all, I’d like to thank you all for reading some of my silliness, for checking out my social media, and especially a big
thank you to everyone who has come out over the years to see my show !!!!!!!

I want to invite you all and would love if you would check out our social media and especially if you would consider coming out
to see our show.
First of all you can find us on Facebook, Youtube, Tiktok, Instagram, and X  looking for Road Comics Adventures.
as an aside – FB screwed with our first Road Comics page and made us re-do it.
So, on FB the page is Road Comics Adventures – public
As of now we podcast live on Youtube and Facebook on Tuesdays at 7 pm (est) , 6 pm (cst) , 4 pm (pst)
At the moment, we are podcasting live on FB on ReneBray page because FB won’t let us go live on RCA – public
until we have been up and running for over 2 months.
We FREQUENTLY post on Road Comics social media a  lot of our antics and travel adventures.
I post some of the content on my Flip Orley pages, but a bulk of the “just now” type posts are always on Road Comics

So, let me introduce all of you to Rene’ Bray –
my manager, my partner (business and comedy), and most of all  – my dearest friend

All the best,
F
